Mirror gloss with minimal passes. Here’s the routine stylists swear by.

What you’ll need
• Heat protectant • Fine-tooth comb • Clips
• Flat iron (e.g., Heatwave Cosmo Glide titanium flat iron with infrared)

Heat settings
• Fine/fragile: 150–165°C
• Medium: 170–180°C
• Coarse/curly: 180–210°C. Start at 180°C, increase only if needed.

Method

  1. Dry hair only: Zero moisture for true shine.

  2. Section smart: Section in 4 parts. Nape → sides → crown → face frame. Sections should be no wider than the plate.

  3. Create tension: Place comb ahead of the plates and “chase” it - one slow, steady pass beats three fast ones.

  4. Turn towards the ends: Slight turn for a salon finish; avoids blunt tips.

Silk-press variation
Micro-sections, slower glide, consistent tension. Finish with a light anti-humidity serum.

Troubleshooting
Smoke? Likely steam from product used - reduce amount being used.
Kinks? Don’t pause the flatiron mid-strand.
No shine? Slow your pace and tighten tension on hair.

Care
Wipe cool plates weekly. Store closed but not clamped tight.

Safety note
Avoid skin contact with hot plates. Unplug between passes if you must set the tool down.

Glass-like results, fewer passes. Meet Cosmo Glide.
